Things To Do Before Applying For The Visa

1Identify an eligible occupation on the MLTSSL or Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL).
2Obtain a positive Skills Assessment from the relevant Australian assessing body.
3Achieve Competent English (IELTS 6.0 in each band / PTE 50 in each section).
4Calculate your points score (need 60 points + 5 points state nomination = 65 total).
5Submit an EOI via SkillSelect selecting your target Australian State or Territory.
6Lodge Registration of Interest (ROI) or application for State Nomination.
7Receive State Nomination approval and official Invitation to Apply (ITA) from Home Affairs.
8Submit complete visa application with all supporting evidence within 60 days.

General Eligibility Criteria

Be under 45 years of age at the time of invitation.
Nominate an occupation on the eligible STSOL / MLTSSL occupation list.
Hold a valid positive Skills Assessment for your nominated occupation.
Be nominated by an Australian State or Territory government agency.
Score at least 65 points (including 5 points awarded for state nomination).
Achieve at least Competent English proficiency.
Satisfy health and character public interest criteria.

Health & Character Requirements

  • Undergo a comprehensive medical examination conducted by an approved Bupa / Panel Physician.
  • Provide police clearance certificates (PCC) for all countries lived in for 12 months or more over the past 10 years.
